Raw Fossil Energy

Does the heat inside Earth come from burning fossil fuels?

I'm a 5th grader trying to do my homework, and it included that it said on an answer that heat inside Earth comes from burning fossil fuels. I really need help on this. Thank you very much.

  1. no heat from the earth comes from thermonuclear reactions at the earths core.thermonuclear reactions are when radioactive elements decay to produce heat and that heat is what heats the earth.not fossil fuels .
  2. nor quite the heat inside the earth is produced because of burning iron and magma burning fossil fuels can create heat if it comes in contact with the earth's core (burning iron and magma), but overall the heat comes from the earths core its mainly due to compactness though goodluckk on your homework =]
  3. The heat in the earth comes from the radioactive decay of unstable metalic elements. It is not a fusion process.
