What it mean when someone is Advocate hydroelectric energy over fossil fuels?

What would be a good argument for being an Advocate hydroelectric energy over fossil fuels?

1. maybe the fact that hyroelectric power is renewable so long as their is a water source. Fossil fuels, once the oil is gone then its gone, atleast not for another few million years.
