Raw Fossil Energy

Is the following a reasonable position to take on fossil fuels and energy policy?

Look - I don't give a flaming crap about Global Warming or the environmental alarmist movement's predictions of impending doom... I want to get rid of all fossil fuels for NATIONAL SECURITY reasons! I'm sick and tired of being beholden to tin-horn dictators, despots and brutal thug governments just because they're sitting on massive oil reserves. I think it's in our national interest to arrive at a day when we don't depend on ANY other government for even ONE KILOWATT of our energy needs. Our dependence on these governments skews our foreign policy, causing us to prop up these repressive regimes and look the other way at their human rights abuses, just so they won't shut off the oil spigots. In turn, our reputation in the world has plummeted because of this hypocrisy in our foreign policy. Therefore, we need to devote all of the best scientific minds and research institutions in our country to find an alternative to fossil fuels, and if we also get environmental benefits out. of the deal, so much the better... Am I wrong?

2. Greetings. a history buff. I read a lot of the justification that the Nazis used in pre-emptive invasions of various places in Europe. Like invading the oil fields or the rich agricultural areas of eastern Europe. to take the resources for themselves and not have to deal with the people who lived there. just kill them and take what they have. easy. Hitler had a military that could almost do it. We don't. I assume you do know that we are not dependant on petroleum because we have to be. It is not that there are no other means of energy available. Our dependance is based on profit and nothing else. Check early vehicles, gasoline engines were very late coming out. Steam and electric were already pretty well established when refining of petroleum to get gasoline was discovered. Steam is still the means of driving even our most advanced nuclear power plants and war ships. and steam can be made from near anything that burns or even from thermo wells sunk deep into the earth to supply heat. We don't need to kill the rest of the world to supply profits for people like our president and homies, just get on with the development of what we already know. And it sure as hell is not the turkey ethyl alcohol for fuel, or nuclear power plants that we cannot get rid of the waste from.
3. No, your NOT wrong. Did you do any research as to which companies were allowed government contracts for working in Iraq? That ought to scare the ever-loving **** out of you! We are sending our troops into real danger and the real danger comes with the fact there is no plan for winning this war. Those troops are going into battle being poorly trained and improperly suited with adequate weapons for for their survival. Why is that? Are there some members of our society that are considered expendable by this corrupt administration and the chimp thug-mobile we have in Washington are seeing dollars only and never human life? The time is now to get the current administration out of office or impeached - that for sure would end this miserable, unwinnable war!

Do you not know that Dick Cheney was directly responsible for buying the patents to alternative technology and basically burying it? Dude, do you not think that as the richest country on the planet, we can't afford what you want??? Do you think that it is by mere coincidence that the oil buisness is showing record profits, and that our country is run by two "oil" men!?!? If you think that for one second....one second that this war is not about control of oil reserves in Iraq, then you really don't want what you ask! We as Americans have to stand up and make our government accountable and get back to working for....US!!!! Not thier own agendas!
